Purchases

I bought the unlock but features are still locked. How do I restore it?

In Studio, open Settings using the gear icon, then tap Restore purchases. You can also restore from the unlock screen for a locked option. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account you used to buy it.

Does my purchase work on both iPhone and Android?

No. The App Store and Google Play are separate stores, so a purchase on one does not carry over to the other.

How do I get a refund?

Payments are handled by Apple and Google, so refunds are requested through them. We cannot issue refunds directly.

I was charged, but the purchase did not complete.

Tap Restore purchases as described above. If that does not work, please email us.

Sending and receiving cards

How do I send a Kofuda card to a friend?

Open the card, tap Share, then choose Send as Kofuda card to send a link or file, or Show QR code to let your friend scan it. Your notes are never included.

How do I receive a card?

Tap the link or open the .kofuda file you were sent. To scan a QR code, tap Scan a Kofuda card in Studio. The card opens in Kofuda, and you can save it to My Collection.

It says "Update Kofuda to open this card."

The card was made with a newer version of Kofuda. Update the app from the App Store or Google Play, then open the card again.

The camera does not open when I scan.

Kofuda needs camera access to scan QR codes. Allow it in your device's Settings (Settings > Kofuda > Camera on iPhone; Settings > Apps > Kofuda > Permissions on Android).

Can I change a card I received?

Yes. If you change the design and save it, Kofuda keeps the card you received and saves your version as a new card.

My Collection

Where are my cards stored?

Only on your device. Kofuda has no accounts and no online storage, so we cannot see or recover your cards.

Will my collection move to a new phone?

Your collection is part of the app's data on your device, so it can move with your device's own backup or transfer (for example, iCloud Backup or Quick Start on iPhone, or Android's backup and device transfer). It does not move between iPhone and Android. If you delete the app, your collection is deleted too.

About your name in kanji

Kofuda chooses kanji whose sounds match your name, and picks characters with good meanings. This is a creative style called ateji, used for art and gifts. It is not an official translation or legal spelling of your name.

Linked cards

How do I make a pair or a four-card set?

Open the Linked cards tab, choose Pair · 2 cards or Series · 4 cards, select a picture and choose the part you want to make. Create and save your card, then exchange cards with friends to collect the other parts.

Do received cards count toward a set?

Yes. Both created and received cards count. Each part counts once, even if you keep several cards with that design. When a set is complete, you can share the saved cards together as a single image.

Do linked cards require a purchase?

Creating linked-card designs requires the one-time unlock. Receiving, saving and exchanging cards is free.
