Kofuda Privacy Policy

Kofuda ("the app") is made by AdvancedEase K.K. ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use Kofuda on iPhone or Android.
In short: we do not collect any personal information. The app has no accounts, no servers, no analytics, and no advertising. Your name and your cards stay on your device unless you choose to share them.
Information you enter
To make a Kofuda card, you type a name. The app turns it into Japanese characters entirely on your device. The name is never sent to us or to anyone else.
Your collection
Cards you save to My Collection are stored only on your device, inside the app's private storage. A saved card includes:
- the name you entered, its Japanese characters and reading
- the design you chose (composition, colors, typeface, pattern)
- the image and print-ready PDF of the card
- whether you made the card or received it, and any note you wrote on it
We cannot see or access any of this. Deleting a card, or deleting the app, removes it from the app.
Device backups. If you use iCloud Backup (iPhone) or Android backup to your Google account, your operating system may include the app's data in those backups. Backups are handled by Apple or Google under your own account, and we have no access to them.
Sharing and exchanging cards
Kofuda does not send anything on its own. Information leaves your device only when you choose to share it:
- Sharing an image or PDF. When you tap Share, your device's share menu opens and you choose where the file goes (for example, Messages, email, or your photo library).
- Exchanging a card. A card can be passed to someone else as a link, a QR code, or a
.kofudafile. It contains the card's name (in English letters, Japanese characters, and reading) and its design settings. It does not include your notes or any other information about you. The card travels directly through the method you choose. It never passes through any server of ours.
Once you share something, the app you share it through, and the person you share it with, handle it under their own terms.
Camera
The camera is used only to scan Kofuda card QR codes, and only after you allow access. Camera images are processed on your device to read the code. They are not saved or sent anywhere. You can turn off camera access at any time in your device settings.
Purchases
Kofuda is free to download and offers an optional one-time in-app purchase. Payment is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never receive your payment details, name, or email address. The app only learns whether the purchase has been made, so it can unlock features, and remembers this on your device.

On Android, the Google Play Billing library that handles purchases is provided by Google and may communicate with Google's services as part of processing and verifying purchases. This may include diagnostic information such as your device model, OS version and app version. This information goes to Google, not to us.
Children
Kofuda is not directed at children under 13. Because we do not collect personal information from anyone, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the UK GDPR or the EU GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information held about you. Because we do not collect or hold personal information about you, there is nothing on our side to access or delete. All of your data is on your device and under your control. Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles information, we will update this page and the effective date above. If a change means we would begin collecting personal information, we will say so clearly before it takes effect.
